Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Celebrates Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar @ 55: A Beacon of Purposeful Leadership

As Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar marks his 55th birthday, I, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, Member of the Board of Trustees at TETFUND representing the North Central and Founder of the ENACT Initiative, join well-meaning Nigerians at home and in the diaspora in celebrating a man whose journey in public service reflects uncommon dedication, quiet strength, and profound impact.

Senator Umar’s distinguished background in Pharmacy, Public Administration, and Disaster Risk Management, as well as his influential career with global development agencies like USAID, DFID, and Axios International, positioned him early as a builder of systems that work — particularly in the areas of public health, women’s welfare, and community development.

Since his election to the Nigerian Senate in 2019, representing the good people of Kwara North, Senator Umar has consistently shown that true leadership is rooted in service, not self; in results, not rhetoric. His legislative record — over 30 sponsored Bills and numerous critical Motions — is not only impressive but deeply strategic in shaping a more equitable and economically inclusive Nigeria.

From my vantage point as a fellow development advocate and public servant from Kwara South, I admire Senator Sadiq’s principled leadership and relentless focus on delivering real change to his constituents. His several projects which he has facilitated across Kwara North — spanning healthcare, water access, rural infrastructure, education, and empowerment — are a testament to his belief in development that is felt, not just announced.

Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar’s calm and thoughtful approach to national service, his passionate advocacy for youth and women, and his voice on the Senate floor in favour of rural empowerment and peace-building are models for all who hold or aspire to hold public office.

As he clocks 55 today, may this milestone bring renewed strength, divine direction, and continued grace in his noble service to Kwara North, Kwara State, and our dear country, Nigeria. His life and work are strong reminders that collaboration across regions, parties, and professions remains the most powerful path to national progress.

Happy Birthday, Distinguished Senator!

May the years ahead be even more impactful.

Signed:

Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi
