Kwara’s Focal Person on Diaspora Matters Represents the state at Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit

At the just concluded Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit 2021 held in Abuja, Nigeria on November 16th – 17th, 2021 organized by the non-profit voluntary organization Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative (NDSI) in collaboration with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Dr. Lola Sawyerr the Focal Person on Diaspora Matters to HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq the executive Governor of Kwara State ably represented Kwara State at the event.

 

The summit with the theme Diaspora Partnership and Linkages for Post-Covid Economic Growth was an opportunity of bringing together potential Foreign Direct Investors to meet with various businesses in the areas of Agribusiness, Creative, Sports and Entertainment, Education, Health Care, ICT/Fintech, Infrastructure/Real Estate, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Telecoms.

The summit was an opportunity for businesses and various states to showcase and attract potential investors towards the overall development of the Country.  Many Diaspora investors that understand the Nigerian business climate were on hand to hear pitches from local businesses looking to grow their businesses by partnering with potential investors.


Dr. Lola Sawyerr’s presence at the occasion gave her a first-hand experience and allow her to better understand the potential values that can be unlocked for Kwara State through the facilitation of investors to help with job creation and employment opportunities for Kwarans, and potential knowledge transfer opportunities available.

The summit was well attended by Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants in the capacity of Diaspora Focal person from across many states in Nigeria.

The summit allowed Dr. Lola Sawyerr the opportunity to interact, exchange ideas, and build working relationships with representatives from other States and NiDCOM staffers.
